In the case of Coors beer, this is not exactly because, without the need to print any additional text, everyone who knows beer associates the color change with cold. The Coors Light beer label features mountains with silver trim.

The combination of conventional-thermosensitive inks makes a color change from white to blue in the mountains of its distinctive - after cooling the bottle in the refrigerator - indicates that the beer is at its ideal consumption temperature. No one has a doubt. Blue mountains equal to cold beer. The heat sensitive ink, in this case, is calibrated at 8ºC (46ºF). These inks allow their calibration at any temperature between -10ºC to + 69ºC, it is enough to know at what temperature we want the color change so that our production department calibrates the ink at the ideal temperature for the change.
The color change is reversible: imagine you take the beer out of the fridge and they call you on the phone. The beer warms up and the mountains turn white again. We usually touch the container to check the temperature, but this is very unreliable because the liquid inside may be hotter than we think. The ink is calibrated at the ideal temperature in conjunction with the temperature of the interior, not the exterior.
